The Goods

  1. Peach Blush – Ofra Cosmetics. Regular price: $15.00

OFRA’s fabulous pressed powder with strong pigment for a long lasting effect which can be applied wet or dry with a powder or blush brush. This shade is a bit light for my skin tone, but I love the shimmer. Even though it doesn’t work as blush for me, it makes a great highlighter!

  1. Fat Brow Liner in Light to Medium – EYEKO. Regular price: $22.00

Enhance your brows with a single stroke colour. Create a bold look with a natural finish with this easy-to-use liquid felt tip to strengthen the sparest of brows. Accentuate, shape and define in seconds. Wow, I’ve never tried liquid brow liner like this before and I LOVE it!! The shade is perfect, it defines my brows easily but blends in without looking unnaturally dark. This is my third EYEKO product I’ve tried, and so far I LOVE them all! Woohoo! I love how much easier it is to make my brows sharp and defined with this as opposed to powder or mascara style brow enhancers.

  1. Affinitic Snail Cream – Ladykin. Regular price: $4.00

This anti-wrinkle snail cream is made with 80% snail secretion filtrate. Snail slime called mucin is mainly composed of “chondroitin”, which improves skin elasticity and damaged skin as well as increases softness. Mucin prevents/treats dry skin by preventing water loss from the external environment, the reason why a snail retains a wet skin. This is quite the interesting concept, I googled the process to collect the secretion and although it is claimed no snails are harmed or killed, after watching a video of bags full of snails being submerged and scraped I doubt this is true. Even so, I was impressed with how well this keeps my skin moisturized.

  1. Photo Chic Dark Spot Corrector – City Color Cosmetics. Regular price: ~$2.00

Photo Chic Dark Spot Corrector is a peach tinted concealer used to minimize the appearance of dark spots and circles. The thick formula provides long lasting coverage that brightens undereye darkness to a healthy, fresh and rested appearance. This works surprisingly well for a drug store priced item! Check out how it worked on my dark spot… lol

  1. Tweezers – Chella. Regular price: $20.00

To create your ideal brow look, remove any unwanted hairs with this perfect-grip tweezer. To use: grip an individual hair and utilize a quick upward motion to lift and remove hairs as desired. These tweezers are indeed comfortable to hold, but did not strike me as particularly great at gripping hairs. The larger hairs sure, but I had to a try a few times for the thinner hairs.

FREE GLAM BAG

This is my favorite GlamBag yet, because the top comes folded and it’s actually LARGE! It fits wayyy more makeup than any other GlamBag I have. I’m pretty sure I saw it I thought, “Finally..”

Value

The products in the month’s box are worth $63.00! That’s more than 6x the $10.00/month cost of ipsy, so I’d say that’s an awesome value. The brow liner is by far my favorite product this month… and the GlamBag itself. Snail moisturizer is a cool concept although morally it makes me uncomfortable. Everything else I will use, this month I wasn’t blown away with the selection I received but that’s OK because I love ipsy! By far the best beauty subscription for the price.
