ipsy review February, 2017

Ipsy is a subscription that delivers full and deluxe sized beauty products with a makeup bag to your door every month!

This month’s theme is “#IPSY MUCH LOVE.”

The Goods

  1. Butter Lipstick in Lifeguard – NYX. Regular price: $6.00

Treat your lips to a kiss of smooth, creamy color with irresistible Butter Lipstick. The formula’s delicate satin texture fused with highly saturated color delivers full-yet-lightweight coverage with a luxurious satin finish. This lipstick really does have a unique, velvety texture that I didn’t mind. Too bad I’d never wear this color, though!

  1. Volumelash Waterproof Mascara – BellaPierre Cosmetics. Regular price: $20.00

This mascara has a flexible brush that perfectly separates and coats every single lash, so your lashes are full and defined. This is removed easily with a makeup wipe even though it is waterproof, no tugging and rubbing required! I usually don’t like waterproof mascara because it is so hard to remove, but this mascara really did come off easily and I love how it made my lashes look. It isn’t clumpy and adds a ton of length and volume. Awesome!

  1. Luminude in Primrose – Seraphine Botanicals. Regular price: $24.00

A soft-touch skin luminizer made from cold-pressed Evening Primrose Oil that gives a youthful brilliance and glow to your complexion. I used this as highlighter on my chin, cheekbones, bridge of nose and middle of forehead and I love how it makes my skin glow. As you can see from the picture, when it’s on my face it just makes my skin glow and isn’t an obvious gold shimmer or anything, it has a natural, pretty look.

  1. Gentle Face Cleanser – BeFine Food Skin Care. Regular price: $7.05

BeFine’s formulas are completely vegan and packed with good-for-your skin superfoods and natural ingredients. Creamy coconut oil moisturizes, while tea tree and orange extract detox and balance out oil production. Jojoba beads buff away dead skin cells, leaving your skin glowing. This face wash has an awesome minty scent that makes my face feel extra fresh, it’s like brushing my teeth for my face haha.

  1. Rose Gold Blush Face Brush 514 – Luxie. Regular price: $18.00

Imitate the perfect glow on your cheeks with this Luxie blush brush. Made with cruelty-free synthetic bristles, this vegan brush achieves beauty inside and out. Fake a healthy flush with this must-have product in your beauty arsenal. This brush is super soft, it works good for highlighter and blush, only products that can be lightly dusted on. This definitely isn’t tough enough to use for powder or contour. It works great for my BellaPierre powder highlighter and Urban Decay blush.

This is just a classic denim with neon edging makeup bag, it’s kind of retro. Who knows what I’ll do with this, or the 500 other ipsy makeup bags I have, lol.

The products in the month’s box are worth $75.05! That’s more than 7x the $10.00/month cost of ipsy, so I’d say that’s an awesome value! Besides the lipstick, I’ll use everything in this month’s bag! I love the mascara and refreshing facewash. The illuminator works so good and gives such a cool, natural glow. The Luxie brush is perfect for dusting on loose powders… man I love ipsy! By far the best beauty subscription for the price.

  1. Love how you add an ease of cancellation button at the button- that’s such a unique aspect of your blog! I’m not really a fan of the NYX butters, I prefer their matte lip cremes but that alone is pretty much the price of the box so it’s amazing value for money! I’m amazed at their generosity. Great review, I’d never heard of this company before.

    • Thanks! I’ve been subscribed to all types of boxes, and the WORST for me is when I want to cancel and come to find out the only way is if I call a phone number and talk to someone to cancel. It just seems so unnecessary when any company is capable of putting a cancel button on their site, it’s like they want to make it too hard so people stay subscribed lol. So I have that in all of my reviews so if someone is thinking about subscribing, they will be aware beforehand how to cancel. Before I had a blog and relied on others reviews I always wished reviewers would mention the cancellation policy.
