The Goods

  1. Freematic Eye Shadow – Doucce. Regular price: $35.00

A special edition palette of four silky eye shadows that are the building blocks for the ultimate smoky eye.  It’s true, these are really the four best colors I can imagine for a beautiful smoky eye look, the plum, white, grey, and black match everything and are literally my four favorite eye shadow shades magically in one palette, lol. I was surprised at how much I had to build this shadow to get a good pigment, considering it is a $35 palette, it’s nowhere near Too Faced as far as instant deep pigmentation goes. But it is worth the building in the end, it really does look great once the look is complete.

  1. Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray – Oscar Blandi. Regular price: $11.00

img_1106

Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray revives dirty hair with a totally transparent, lightweight formula—making it great for hair of any color. Plus, it leaves strands smelling first day-fresh, thanks to its zesty lemon verbena scent. I was so happy when I saw this, this may sound weird but dry shampoo is my absolute favorite beauty product to get in a subscription box, lol. Probably because I wash my hair as LITTLE as possible so I’m always on the lookout for the best dry shampoo. Unfortunately, this specific one isn’t going to become my go-to. The reason for this is that even when used exactly as directed, this leaves a white dandruff-looking residue ALL throughout my hair, and no matter how much a try to brush and comb it out I can’t get it all. Yesterday my boyfriend looked at my hair in line at Walmart and goes, “Eww, what’s wrong with your head?” Yeah. So… no.

  1. E70 Medium Angled Shading Brush – Sigma. Regular price: $16.00

img_1123

This is a synthetic, cruelty-free brush that sweeps powder eye shadow on to the lids and blends it into the creases for professional-level smoky eyes. I love makeup brushes and use them for everything (foundation, powder, shadow, concealer), but for smaller eye shadow brushes I prefer brushes that are more firm and dense than this one. The soft bristles just don’t have the preciseness that’s necessary for eye shadow, in my opinion. It works fine for dusting on highlighter in the smaller areas (bridge of nose, above top lip, under eyebrows), though.

  1. Microdermabrasion Facial Exfoliator – Dr. Brandt. Regular price: $9.90

img_1110

Get a youthful glow with this microdermabrasion solution. This formula contains aluminum oxide crystals, lactic acid, and soothing botanicals to polish away dead skin cells, provide a radiant, healthy look, and smooth skin’s texture. Watch as the appearance of fine lines, acne marks, and skin discolorations diminish for maximum results in minimal time. This facial exfoliator works great, especially with a rotating cleansing brush. I’ll absolutely use this until it’s gone, and enjoy it while it lasts because a full sized bottle is $79, so I won’t be buying my own lol.

  1. Lipstick in Blush Basin – Burt’s Bees. Regular price: $8.99

img_1118

A full coverage lip color with 8 hours of moisturization. The Blush Basin shade has a warm, reddish pink hue with just the right amount of lip color to enhance your dry lips while keeping them nourished and hydrated. This lipstick has a moisturizing, creamy texture that adds a vibrant shade with a smooth, satin finish. I LOVE Burt’s Bees, I always have their lip balm with me, and I also like their lip shimmer and body products. I knew I’d like this lipstick, and it did not disappoint! This is the most soft and moisturizing lipstick I’ve ever tried, and the pigment is great as well. Woohoo!

  1. Botanic Fiber Beauty Mask in #beautysecret – Biobelle. Regular price: $4.99

img_1125

Biobelle’s Firming sheet mask with Hyaluronic Acid & Pomegranate is unique with the use of TENCEL, an all-natural and biodegradable fiber that adheres perfectly to every facial contour, like a second skin and delivers the serum like no other mask. Biobelle’s serum is infused with proven, naturally derived substances, essential oils and gentle preservatives, with visible effects after just the first use. This mask has my #1 fav ingredient for anti-aging products, sodium hyaluronate. When a product advertises hyaluronic acid, ALWAYS check the ingredients to make sure it’s in sodium hyaluronate form, because regular hyaluronic acid’s molecules are too large to penetrate the skin. The sodium form is the salt of hyaluronic acid and the molecules are small enough to penetrate the skin and deliver incredible moisture and wrinkle reducing plumpage, due to it’s unique ability to hold 1000x it’s weight in water. This mask felt SO good to use and left my skin plump and moisturized, and super soft. Love it.

Value

The total value of the products in this month’s box is $85.88! The Allure Beauty Box costs $15.00/month, so this is an AWESOME value. This box is special to me because the products are always the BEST of the best, high end beauty products. I can’t afford to spend a ton of money on expensive skincare/hair care/makeup products, so it’s really nice to get to try all these great products. I usually won’t spend more than $10 for makeup and skincare boxes, but I’m making an exception for the Allure Beauty Box!
