The Goods

  1. Konjac Facial Sponge – Biossance. Regular price: $15.00

The Konjac Facial Sponge is a 100% natural vegetable fiber sponge that gently cleanses, massages, and exfoliates skin. Rich in minerals and naturally alkaline, this sponge removes dead skin, blackheads, dirt and oil as well as refines pores. I love how easily this sponge removes makeup, the shape and texture make removing the toughest mascara a breeze. It’s nice to be able to hang it to dry so I can keep it clean, too!

  1. The Purifier Soothing Cleansing Oil – Biossance. Regular price: $30.00

The Purifier is a daily facial cleansing oil that effortlessly dissolves makeup and impurities while leaving skin undeniably clean, moisturized and smooth. Waterproof mascara and hard to remove makeup melts right off! It has powerful ingredients such as Squalane (100% plant-derived and acts as a barrier, protecting and moisturizing skin) and 8 plant-derived oils and extracts that soothe, soften and deliver vitamins A, B and C to the skin while providing antioxidant protection. I smooth this over my face, wait a few seconds, and rinse with warm water and follow up with the Konjac Sponge and a cream cleanser, and my skin feels awesome!

  1. Naked Flushed Bronzer, Highlighter, and Blush Compact – Urban Decay. Regular price: $32.00

Urban Decay’s micronized, jet-milled formula has a luxe, featherlight texture that feels amazing on your skin. Light-diffusing particles enhance and perfect to give your skin a fresh, glowy look. It all comes in a sleek case with an easy-open magnetic closure and a big mirror. The pink color looked dark enough, but on my skin it appears light pink, lighter than my regular skin tone so it doesn’t really work. I have olive skin so I usually need darker colors. The highlighter is great, though and the bronzer works on my skin tone as well!

  1. Chateau Cheek Stain Blush Tint and Brush Duo – PUR Cosmetics. Regular price: $26.00

Give your cheeks the perfect wash of color with PÜR’s Château Cheek Stain. This gel-like formula melts onto your skin to give your look a dewy fresh glow. Add a dab for a barely there tint or layer it on for a dramatic flush of moisture-rich color. I love the versatility of the color with this, I can add a light tint of color or build it to a darker blush, and the brush blends the color in perfectly, the result is a flushed, dewey glow.

  1. Seven Deadly Sins Lip Gloss in Avarice – Lipstick Queen. Regular price: $24.00

This lip gloss is lightweight yet full-pigment and utterly decadent. Rich, dramatic coverage with a weightless, non-sticky texture. The Ultra-glossy formula hydrates and protects with Cranberry Oil, Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Rosemary Extract for a truly tempting pout. This goes on kind of like a lipstick with lots of pigment, but with a subtle shine. It would be better classified as a lip stain. The color is a deep nude peach, and peachy tones are my favorite for lips! I’m happy to have this as my new lip color.

Value

The total value of the items in this month’s box is $127.00. The box costs $39.99/month. This box is like the Popsugar Must Have box for makeup and skincare! Over $100 worth of full sized products I love that will last me a long time, for $40 a month. If you can afford to subscribe and support an independent venture, you won’t be disappointed by HandPicked. This month’s box has made me super happy, I love the feel of the facial sponge and soothing oil, and the colors of the blushes and lip gloss. Yay!

I love beauty product boxes, but I hate how quickly my samples run out. It’s really nice to have a box with ALL full sized samples that you know will last you a long time, it definitely helps me feel like I got my money’s worth. With full sized products, the value actually IS the value, as in I actually HAVE $127 worth of makeup… unlike sample boxes where even though I can give them value based on weight, that doesn’t change the fact that they’re given away for free at department stores. To me, it’s like getting 5 high end products for a fraction of the price, can’t beat it.
