This review of HandPicked is for the month of October, 2016.

The Goods

  1. Skin Restoring Treatment Mask – Karuna Luxe. Regular price: $12.00

The innovative Karuna Luxe treatments are formulated with top-of-the-line, all-natural ingredients that work to restore skin to its optimum balance. Made from pure Japanese cotton and infused with an exclusive Beauty Boost, the mask delivers next-level repair for dry, damaged skin. I love these masks because they make my skin feel so soft afterwards always. Plus, it’s fun to creep my boyfriend out in the process. Any similar masks I’ve tried don’t “dry”, they just have a time limit, you peel it off and rub in the remaining gel into your face. This one actually does “dry” and peels off like a pore strip for my entire face… a bit uncomfortable but I followed up immediately with lotion and my skin was fine. Look how thrilled I am haha.

  1. Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream – Pacifica. Regular price: $16.00

Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream is a true multitasking miracle by Pacifica, that hydrates, primes, illuminates, and perfects, leaving a sheer bare skin finish. Specialized mineral pigments instantly adjust to your skin shade allowing one color to work for many. The sheer application can be built up for just the right amount of coverage. In addition, this amazing BB cream formula contains high performance botanical ingredients that revive, and re-mineralize skin for a natural glow. Your skin will look natural, dewy, youthful and radiant without looking like you are wearing heavy makeup. Think sheer moisturizing tint with benefits!

I was amazed at the dewy, glowing look this gave my face! (forgive my morning eyes and nothing but BB cream face) It was such a pretty, illuminating cream I didn’t even want to use powder… I may just rock the morning glow from now on. 🙂

  1. Rule Blender Double-Ended Eyeshadow Brush – Tarte. Regular price: $28.00

Bend the rules with this innovative, double-ended shadow brush for complete eye looks from the lid to the crease. This multi-tasking eye-ssential includes two supremely soft, synthetic brushes in one durable tool designed to make it virtually goofproof to create an array of smoldering looks on every eye shape. Discover the unique, angled brush, which easily applies around the contours of the eye and adds rich dimension with a simple, relaxed sweep. The flat, opposite brush pats and blends your favorite shadow formulas all over the lid, up to the brow bone. This brush did work perfectly for applying and blending eyeshadow. I used it to apply the eyeshadow I also got in this box, which you will see in some pictures under that review.

  1. Facial Radiance Serum – First Aid Beauty. Regular price: $44.00

This is on final sale via the First Aid Beauty website for $22.00 here. FAB Facial Radiance Serum is formulated with a powerful Triple Brightening Complex that addresses uneven skin tone and dark spots caused by aging, sun damage and acne discoloration. Licorice Root naturally brightens skin. Chromabright brightens the skin and reduces photoaging. Vitamin C reduces unwanted pigmentation and discoloration. With daily use, dark spots are noticeably reduced, skin clarity is improved and complexion is luminous. I’m a huge facial serum fan, but my focus is anti-aging products that have sodium hyaluronate as an ingredient. Since this does not, I am giving it to my boyfriend. I know that sounds funny but his face skin is very damaged by scarring and discoloration from acne, so I think this will help him with that.

  1. Electric Pressed Pigment Palette – Urban Decay. Regular price: $49.00

This is on sale on the website for $24, here. Urban Decay Electric eyeshadow is ten of the brightest, most amazing shades you’ve ever laid eyes on, plus a double-ended brush. From ultra-smooth mattes to highly dimensional shimmers, each velvety shade delivers insane color payout. Why do a Pressed Pigment Palette? Using pressed pigments was the only way to create heavily saturated brights with the intense pigment load people crave. Each shade applies with a soft and creamy texture and delivers serious color payout and blendability. The double-ended pressed pigment brush features a compact precision brush that’s perfect for applying color with amazing control on one end and a small pigment brush on the other end. I’ll show it here in 2 different lights:

This eyeshadow absolutely lives up to its name, each shade goes on super bright without having to build much. For this review I had to go to work after so I tried using the least crazy colors.. Pink inside lid, purple outside lid, and a very blended and thinned out orange on the open area under my eyebrows. I frequent music festivals a lot, and this will be my go-to palette for SURE from now on when getting ready for one. The bright pigments go perfect with my neon outfits and overall extreme look.

The total value of the items in this month’s box is $149.00. The box costs $39.99/month. This box is like the Popsugar Must Have box for makeup and skincare! Over $100 worth of full sized products I love that will last me a long time, for $40 a month. If you can afford to subscribe and support an independent venture, you won’t be disappointed by HandPicked.

I love beauty product boxes, but I hate how quickly my samples run out. It’s really nice to have a box with ALL full sized samples that you know will last you a long time, it definitely helps me feel like I got my money’s worth. With full sized products, the value actually IS the value, as in I actually HAVE $149 worth of makeup… unlike sample boxes where even though I can give them value based on weight, that doesn’t change the fact that they’re given away for free at department stores. To me, it’s like getting 5 high end products for a fraction of the price, can’t beat it.
