The Goods

  1. Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask – Briogeo. Regular price: $4.50

Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask works in as little as five minutes to restore essential hydration and natural vibrancy to dry, brittle, over-processed, and otherwise lackluster locks. To protect against future damage, its unique NOVA complex formulation, packed with 95 percent naturally-derived ingredients, delivers an optimal blend of transformative nutrients. They range from B vitamins to rosehip oil, argan oil, collagen, and silk to transform damaged hair into shiny, healthy, lustrous-looking locks. I’ve used a lot of hair masks in my time, and I’ve gotten this exact product in ipsy before and didn’t like it. It makes my hair hard to brush and does not really look better or worse once it’s styled, when other masks I can immediately see and feel the difference after styling.

  1. Freesia Pear Body Wash Infused Buffer – Spongelle. Regular price: $15.00

Spongellé has collaborated with Allure to create this exclusive limited edition Freesia Pear Body Wash Infused Buffer. This buffer is formulated to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, & massage. The lather is time released and leaves skin feeling soft and silky. It’s infused with extracts of yuzu, edelweiss, and vetiver. I used this in the shower this morning and the scent and feeling of this sponge was wonderful! It was firm enough I could tell it was exfoliating, but it was also super gentle and lathered up nicely. My skin felt clean and soft when I got out.

  1. Freematic Eyeshadow Single in Kristi – Doucce. Regular price: $10.00

This versatile eye shadow has silky and smooth powder which generates a pure look that won’t fade. This eye shadow is highly pigmented with a light shimmer. The weightless fine powder glides on fluently without smudging or creasing. I am pretty impressed with this eye shadow; I like the color and how easily the color shows up. Use this on top of a bit of eye shadow primer and it will last all day. You really can’t go wrong with bronze eyeshadow!

  1. Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter – Tatcha. Regular price: $12.00

The stems, leaves, and petals of the indigo plant are steeped in water and fermented to make a concentrated botanical extract that soothes and calms sensitive skin. Tryptanthrin and indirubin actives help reduce irritation and promote skin’s natural healing abilities. This creamy body butter contains the hadasei-3 bioactive complex—a proprietary antioxidant, antiaging complex of green tea, Okinawa red algae, and Japanese rice bran extracts. The natural blue hue disappears upon application, leaving a layer of hydration without any waxy or sticky residue. This body butter was so smooth and creamy, it absorbed quickly and kept my hands feeling soft all day. I will absolutely use this as a body lotion until it runs out, but for $12/oz I probably won’t be buying more.

  1. Volumizing Mascara – Mally. Regular price: 20.00

This Volumizing Mascara has a unique formula that helps create the look of gorgeous, full, luxurious lashes. The combination of natural waxes and carefully chosen powders gives lashes an instant boost. The plush brush works with the powders in the formula to help thicken lashes without clumping, giving you gorgeous volume that lasts and lasts. Apply 2 coats to the top lashes and 1 to the bottom to get instant volume that lasts. This mascara did not clump at all for me, and gave each individual lash added volume and length. I think it looks great, I’ll definitely be using this until it runs out!

  1. Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – Klorane. Regular price: $6.25

This dry shampoo formula easily cleanses and refreshes hair in between washes. It’s formulated with oat milk to soothe and protect and corn and rice starches to absorb excess oils. Great for all hair types, it adds volume and texture, leaving hair revitalized, soft, and healthy-looking. I was so happy to see this in my box, my absolute favorite thing to get in a box is dry shampoo! I know that sounds weird, but I’m always wanting to wash my hair as little as possible and always enjoy trying new dry shampoos. This dry shampoo did not disappoint. A lot of reviews complained of residue it left behind, so I was concerned as a brunette. I’m pretty sure the people complaining just weren’t following the directions (shake, spray 10 inches away focusing on roots, wait 2 minutes, brush out until no residue remains). This lifted up my flattened hair, absorbed any greasiness, and my hair felt and smelled clean afterwards. I might have to splurge and buy a full size can of this…

The total value of the products in this month’s box is $67.75. The Allure Beauty Box costs $15.00/month, so this is a pretty big value (the value is more than 4x higher than the cost of the box). This box is special in my opinion because the products are always the BEST of the best, high end beauty products. I can’t afford to spend a ton of money on expensive skincare/hair care/makeup products, so it’s really nice to get to try all these great products. I usually won’t spend more than $10 for makeup and skincare boxes, but I’m making an exception for the Allure Beauty Box!
