The Goods

  1. Chicken Savory Snacks – Chicken Soup for the Soul. Regular price: $5.00

img_8123

Chicken Soup for the Soul Savory Snacks Chicken Dog Treats are all-natural dog treats made with real chicken as the first ingredient. They’re highly palatable, full-flavor, soft and meaty heart shaped bites. Each treat is made without corn, wheat, soy or artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Chicken Soup is proud to support adoption programs and shelters across the country, which is why they feature rescue pets and their owners on every bag. Kona is a huge fan of small, soft treats so he loves these! They’re the perfect size for him.

  1. Jack’s Lantern – Bark & Co. Regular price: $12.00

Recreate the gross-but-strangely-satisfying experience of pumpkin carving for your dog, but with a squeaky toy instead of a slimy mess! This toy reminds me of a Jack-in-the-Box which is ironic since it’s a Jack’s Lantern lol. But the top pulls out and connects to the rest of the pumpkin through the “insides”. Kona was so cute with this toy, he absolutely loved it. Look at all these pictures of him playing with it, it was so funny when he stuck his head inside lol!

  1. Peanut Butter Dogsbar – Dog for Dog. Regular price: $3.00

img_8121

When your dog devours this delicious and nutritious peanut butter bar, the folks at Dog for Dog use the proceeds to feed hungry dogs in need! These are made with natural, healthy ingredients like flaxseed & peanut butter. It didn’t feel right giving Kona the entire bar at once, I know they’re made for that but it seems like a lot of treat, so I gave him 1/4th. He ate it but with the pace he eats regular food so I don’t think he loved it as much as the other treats this month.

  1. Sadie’s Book of Spells – Bark & Co. Regular price: $10.00

img_8176

Sadie’s Book of Spells, a Bark & Co Original, is a creepy, squeaky treasure trove of arcane knowledge and adventure. The cover is soft and furry, a fine companion for cuddling or wondering, “Wait, is this book alive?” The clawed green hand is honestly a pretty standard bookmark, by Dark Magic standards. Kona loved this toy as well, because it has fur and a squeaker, his two favorite things. He wore me out after a long game of Fetch-Tag-Tug-of-War with this toy!

  1. Boo Berry Treats – Uptown Pup Scene. Regular price: $6.00

img_8128

Made in the USA, Boo Berries’ sinister secret is their irresistible combination of chicken and blueberries. The mad scientists at Uptown Pup Scene bake these grain-free biscuits from a hearty chickpea flour batter, blended with tapioca, flaxseed, and potatoes. These treats are soft and chewy, Kona loves them! I give him half a treat at a time since they’re on the larger side. The picture of Kona playing dead with his tongue sticking out cracks me up!

Value

The items in this month’s box are worth a total of $36.00. This subscription is 24.00/month for me with the 3 month option. The month-to-month price for Bark Box is $29.00, so I think it makes sense to buy 3 months and save $15.00. BarkBox always has high quality toys and treats, and never disappoints me. In my opinion, BarkBox is the best option for a dog subscription if you are interested in a dog subscription that has equal amounts of toys and treats. (Other boxes focus on one or the other).
