The Goods

  1. Swimmable Eye Pencil in Pebble Beach – Cargo. Regular price: $12.00

This eye liner stays put through sun, sweat, swim and tears! The ultra-creamy, richly pigmented formula glides on effortlessly for precise lining. Liner allows blending time before setting for a variety of looks. Once set, liner is waterproof and smudge proof! It won’t budge until you decide to take it off. Smooth, even application, easy to create thin or thick lines with precision, it can be sharpened, and is paraben free. I only use black for eye liner, so I used this liner on my eyebrows. That is obviously not the intended purpose of this liner… but my old brow stick faded by the end of the day anyways so I figured I’d try using this, since it is waterproof and all. It worked fine, just a little dark.

  1. Wet Brush Pro – Wet Brush. Regular price: $8.99

The only hairbrush you’ll ever need. Designed specifically for wet hair, the Wet Brush will detangle your knots with ease – no matter what your hair type. The Wet Brush’s IntelliFlex® bristles are super thin, strong and flexible. These bristles will glide through any hair type combing out tangles effortlessly. The bristles’ flexibility enables protective and pain-free detangling while the SofTips™ on the very top of the bristles massage the scalp to stimulate circulation at the follicle. They are firm enough to comb through knots, yet flexible enough to be gentle on the scalp. The IntelliFlex® bristles bounce back to their original form after each stroke eliminating all the hair breakage and pain that used to be associated with brushing your hair. The Wet Brush can be used on wet or dry hair and works on extensions and wigs. This brush did glide easily through my hair after the shower, but my hair does not tangle easily and my other brush goes through my hair just as well.

  1. Whole Blends Honey Treasures Shampoo and Conditioner – Garnier. Regular price: $1.22

This creamy, lush formula, blooms with a delicious fragrance of royal jelly, honey & propolis, bringing to life the wholesome care that strengthens hair and helps prevent split ends & breakage. Formula is paraben free. I was SO impressed with this shampoo and conditioner, I already have it on my grocery list to buy them full size. It was so silky in the shower and when I got out even my wet hair was extra soft and silky. Then after I blow dried it, it smelled amazing and was silky soft and smooth and it still is, yay!

  1. Small Stipple Brush – e.l.f. Regular price: $3.00

Use the Small Stipple Brush to create soft layers by adding texture for a natural airbrushed result. The two layers of bristles create ultimate control from sheer to heavy coverage for small and hard to reach places. Ideal with liquid, cream or powder products, foundation, concealer, and cream blush. This brush works good for contour and highlights of specific areas. Bristles did not shed either which is always a plus!

  1. Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer – Pur-lisse. Regular price: $16.17

Blue Lotus balancing moisturizer with White Tea, Vitamin E and French Marine Plants glides on like a gel and hydrates like a cream. This fast-absorbing, soothing formula instantly delivers intense hydration and prevents fine lines and wrinkles for healthy, dewy and supple skin. Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer provides balanced hydration + fine line prevention + soothes skin and is perfect for use under makeup. This moisturizer has sodium hyaluronate, so I knew it was the real deal. It plumps up skin and makes it baby soft, perfect for before bed, or before makeup!

  1. Setting Mist with Rosemary – Supergoop! Regular price: $4.12

Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 is the best way to reapply UV protection throughout the day without disturbing your makeup. The formula includes a unique makeup setting ingredient that acts by creating a sheer shield, which dries quickly about five seconds after application. Optical diffusing silica silylate further helps to control oil and reduces shine leaving skin feeling soft and smooth with a matte finish, not oily nor greasy as with many sunscreen products. The formula is enlivened with an invigorating essence of antioxidant-rich rosemary to help improve the complexion and soothe inflammation. This mist is super refreshing, I love the feeling of a cool wet mist on my face in the morning, and this wakes me up, dries quickly, and keeps my makeup on and my skin from becoming oily all day!

  1. Anti-Aging Eye Serum – Freeze 24-7. Regular price: $52.99

This lightweight, fast-absorbing eye serum delivers a youthful appearance around the eyes. This serum diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles directly under and around the eye area within minutes of application and reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness around the eye area by rapidly bringing oxygen and nutrients to the area. This seems to work fine, although I prefer the Pur-isse moisturizer because it diminishes fine lines AND moisturizes at once.

The total value of the products in this months box is $98.49!!!! The Allure Beauty Box costs $15.00/month, so this is a huge value (Value of contents is more than 6X the cost!). One of the best values I have seen for a beauty related subscription box. I usually don’t spend more than $10 for makeup and skincare boxes, but I’m making an exception for the Allure Beauty Box!

I calculated the value of these products by dividing the amount in the sample by the amount in a full sized. Then I divided the cost of the full size by the difference in the amounts. Example- Sample is .25 oz, full size is 1.2 oz. 1.2/.25=4.8. Full size is $30.00 so 30/4.8=6.25. Sample is $6.25.
