Chococurb Nano review July, 2016

Chococurb Nano is a subscription box that delivers samples of luxurious chocolate treats from all over the world to your door each month.

These extraordinary chocolates are all organic.

The chocolate will not melt while in route to your house because when temperatures reach above 80 degrees they use styrofoam containers, cold packs and cool shield foil bubble wrap to ensure chocolate doesn’t melt.

Chococurb Nano is the smallest and least expensive box offered by Chococurb. The Chococurb Mini delivers 3 full sized chocolates, and the Chococurb original box delivers 5 to 6 full chocolates chosen personally for you based on your chocolate profile filled out upon signing up.

The Goods

      1. Madagascan Vanilla Milk Chocolate – Menakao.

Menakao milk chocolate flavoured with Madagascan vanilla and a touch of sea salt, producing a rich and buttery chocolate reminiscent of indulgent fudge. This chocolate has a really smooth flavor and the Madagascan cocoa beans give it a fruity and citrus aroma. The sea salt makes this the perfect sweet and salty treat.

This bar doesn’t just taste good, it does good. Buying cocoa direct and producing the chocolate locally, brings the local economy four times the income of Fair Trade chocolate.

     2. Noir Lavande – Chocolat Dolfin.

Dolfin’s Dark Chocolate (52% Cacoa) with Lavender. These Dolfin Chocolate bars are Non-GMO and made by blending Belgian Chocolate with other natural ingredients to achieve unique, unusual, and delicious chocolate flavors. I wasn’t sure about Lavender flavored chocolate, but this tasted delicious! It was super rich, dark chocolate with just a hint of sweet lavender.

      3. Chocolate Bar – Ethereal Confections.

This Ethereal Confections chocolate bar is made with Organic Cocoa Beans, Organic Cane Sugar, and Organic Cocoa Butter. It is contrived with 80% cocoa beans, giving it a velvety texture and distinctive aroma.

      4. Mokaccino Milk Chocolate – TCHO.

Warm, roasted nuttiness and complex dried fruit notes from freshly roasted Blue Bottle coffee blend seamlessly with the dense caramel and cocoa notes in this exceptional milk chocolate. This chocolate tasted so good! I liked how even though it was just smooth milk chocolate, it still had the flavors of nuts, caramel and coffee. Unique and delicious!

  5. Birthday Cake Batter – Seattle Chocolates.

Birthday cake mix center with colorful confetti pieces in milk chocolate with Rainforest Alliance Certified™ cocoa. Tastes like birthday wishes. Flavor notes: yellow cake, vanilla frosting with a hint of sweetness and surprising bursts of color.

Wow, this was by FAR my favorite chocolate of the bunch! The center was really fluffy and light, with a bunch of crunchy little flavor balls (confetti?) in every bite. The chocolate was so soft and sweet, my teeth sank right in and then crunched the little bits… this really was a delight to eat. I wish I had enough to share!

This box also came with a Chococurb Logo Sticker 🙂

The Chococurb Nano box is $10.00/month for month-by-month, down to $8.00/month for an annual subscription. Shipping is $2.00, so it technically is $12.00/month. That’s not too bad for 5 samples of specialty chocolates from around the world, that I would never have tried otherwise. Although I really feel like for just these small samples, this box should be $5.00 and $2.00 shipping for it to be worth it. They also offer the Chococurb Mini, with three full sized chocolates for $20, or the Chococurb, with five to six full sized chocolates for $35.00. If I loved chocolate so much that I wanted to subscribe to a box just to try new specialty chocolates, I would 100% choose the regular box or the Mini, that way I can actually eat a satisfying serving of these delicious chocolates and feel like I was getting my moneys worth.
