Walmart Beauty Box review Summer, 2016

Walmart Beauty Box is a seasonal subscription that delivers beauty product samples and tips on how to use those and other items sold at Walmart.

Each new season brings different product needs and a reason to refresh your beauty cabinet. All you pay is shipping and handling ($5.00).

The Goods

  1. Truly Radiant Clean & Fresh Toothpaste – Arm & Hammer. Regular price: $1.99

This toothpaste has powerful whitening cleansers that give teeth an amazingly deep clean. This toothpaste whitens, cleans, and strengthens teeth. Truly Radiant makes my mouth feel super clean all day, and the taste is amazing! This seems just as good as the “other” more expensive whitening toothpastes.

2. Incoco Coconut Nail Art. Regular price: $4.97

This design is called Desert Rose and is an aztec design. This nail art is really cool, I’m surprised I’d never seen or heard of it before. The instructions were super easy, this was about as easy to apply as regular nail polish and looks MUCH better. You just tear off a design, remove the top plastic and the bottom, and stick it to your nail. Then file off the access. It took me about 10 minutes to do all 10 fingers.. here is how it turned out!

Pretty cool right?! I’m definitely going to buy more of these next time I’m at Walmart! All my nails still look perfect too, and it’s been 24 hours since I put these on. I hope they last until they grow out!

3. Slide Proof Soft Touch Silicone Elastics – Goody. Regular price: $3.48

I am so happy these were in the box! Look at the mini spikes on them that keep them from sliding! That’s sooo awesome I am going to be using these for as long as possible (until eventually I’ve lost them all). I go through a few sets of Goody ponytail holders a year, they just disappear haha. This is the first time I’ve seen this kind though, and I love them. They hold my hair up securely all day and don’t slide down/off. YES!!

4. Aveeno Active Naturals Skin Relief Gentle Scent Body Wash. Regular price: $3.63

This unique, dermatologist tested Aveeno formula is clinically shown to be as gentle to sensitive skin as fragrance free products. This body wash is designed to soothe and moisturize itchy, dry and sensitive skin. It has a light, coconut scent (my favorite fragrance!). It is soap-free, dye-free, and allergy-tested.

5. Jergen’s Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer in Fair to Medium. Regular price: $1.99

I’ve always been a fan of Jergen’s Natural Glow, because as long as it is applied sparingly it won’t streak or look orange, it gives a really natural looking glow. My skin is a bit darker than this shade though, so I will pass this on to my madre (no offense mom but you are pale!). I hope one day they put the Jergen’s Natural Glow for FACE in one of these boxes… because that’s my favorite.

6. Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs in Medium. Regular price: $3.99

My grandma uses this religiously and I always marveled at how good it looked. I’m glad I have some of my own now! This can be used as an alternative to pantyhose… your legs will look just as good, but no tight uncomfortable pantyhose that usually get snags by the end of the night lol. In this picture I applied it only to my leg on the left, for comparison. It did make my toes a bit orangey but other than that it looks great! I did a very thin layer, apply more for a darker, more airbrushed look.

7. Schwarzkopf Essence UltIme Diamond Color & Radiance Shampoo & Conditioner. Regular price: $6.97

Shampoo – The fragrance was the epitome of a high-priced shampoo straight out of an expensive salon. The shampoo itself was creamy and pearlescent with just the right consistency. The lather that I got was wonderful and I didn’t have to use a large amount to get it either. The product cleaned my hair really well and it rinsed away perfectly. The most notable thing about the shampoo besides how soft and silky it left my hair was the wonderful lingering fragrance. Every time I turned my head or even the slightest breeze blew I was reminded of how great the scent is!

Conditioner – I love the way this conditioner lathers, and leaves my hair feeling. As soon as it’s in my hair, my fingers run easily through with no tangles. It smells great, like cocoa butter, and leaves my hair super soft and shiny. I swear my hair has more volume, too!

I can’t comment on the color protection since I don’t have dyed hair though, lol.

The value of the products in this season’s box is $27.02. For $5/season, that is an awesome value! Plus I really loved all the products and will use them, and I got to learn about some new things I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Now I have a few extra items on my grocery list! If you are thinking about subscribing, there’s really nothing to lose with this one since it’s only $5. Highly recommended!
