BarkBox is a subscription service that delivers new dog toys and treats to your door every month! This month was a camping outdoors theme!

The Goods

  1. Zip & Skip Bowls – NexGard. Regular price: $30.00

I’ve actually been looking for some portable dog bowls because I walk Kona long distance a lot. I have a small ceramic bowl and a water bottle I put in my back pack and take it out when he is thirsty, but felt like the portable fold up bowls would be easier to carry and more practical. Imagine my delight when I opened the box and saw this, yay! This will definitely get a LOT of use :).

2. Giggle Buddy Bear – The BarkShop. Regular price: $12.00

image

The Giggle Buddy Bear has a giggle stick that makes the toy chuckle. The plush Giggle Buddy is super soft! Kona LOVES this toy! We got the box 4 days ago and he has been literally carrying it with him everywhere since he got the toy lol. He’s constantly coming up to me and making the toy make noise so I will get annoyed and throw it for him, haha!

3. Campsite Flashlight for Dogs – The Barkshop. Regular price: $14.00

A Bark & Co Original, the body is one giant plush-covered squeaker, perfect for scaring away things that go bump in the night. This is designed with a “rigid” squeaker for heavy chewers… I personally am not strong enough to squeak it at all, and neither is Kona. He did not like this toy so I will gift this to a friend. Also it doesn’t light up.

4. S’mores Dog Treats – House Pups. Regular price: $6.00

These dog treats are pork, carob, and pomegranate flavored and made in the USA. OK so don’t judge me, but before I saw the pork flavored part and just thought they were S’mores flavored, I smelled inside the bag to see if they smelled like s’mores. These freaking treats smell IDENTICAL to s’mores, like delicious chocolate marshmallow graham cracker.. I’m not gonna lie, I HAD to try them because they smelled so good I felt like they almost had to taste good. I took a bite, it did not taste how it smelt, but it didn’t taste bad either! It tasted more like s’mores than pork/pomegranate that’s for sure! Now that I’m officially embarrassed – enjoy this picture of Kona… He is supposed to be playing dead but he doesn’t get the whole eyes closed thing haha.

5. Granola Bites Trails Treats – 2 Traveling Dogs. Regular price: $7.00

image

These dog treats are all natural and low fat. Each cluster packs a ton of crunch, full of oatmeal, coconut, peanut butter, and superfoods galore (think blueberries and flaxseed). When I give them to Kona he usually sets them somewhere hidden and will only eat it right away if I pretend I want it back lol. He is really picky about hard treats. He does eat them though, just more slowly than soft treats. Look at how happy he is to get one!

6. Duck Flavored Dog Chew – Wonderfowl. Regular price: $2.00

image

This crunchy duck flavored rawhide was a huge hit! Kona jumped on the couch with it and chewed on it until it was gone (about 5 minutes)! It is 7 inches and easily chewed through.

Value

The items in this months box are worth a total of $71.00!!! That’s amazing! By far the best value I’ve had for a BarkBox yet. This subscription is 24.00/month for me with the 3 month option. BarkBox is the best option for a dog subscription with equal amounts of toys and treats, if that is what you are interested in. If you are only interested in toys, you might prefer Pet Gift Box. If you prefer more treats, Pet Treater is the box for you. I personally LOVE LOVE BarkBox!
