GLOSSY BOX review June, 2016

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription box that delivers 5 travel size makeup, hair, and skin care products to your door every month!

This month’s theme is the Tony Awards :).

The Goods

  1. Kylie Jenner Trend Matters Satin Collection – SinfulColors. Regular price: $3.00

image

This color is called Denim & Bling, and it is light blue with sparkles. SinfulColors have collaborated with Kylie Jenner to provide daring colors that “push the envelope”. I like this color, it’s not neon in your face, but it’s different. Subtle awesomeness.

2. Emotion Allowed Mascara – Icona Milano. Regular price: $19.00

image

A full sized mascara, EEEK! This long-lasting mascara will stay on all night without running, it is even waterproof. Now if I become the drunk crying girl I won’t look like a raccoon! (JK I’d never be the drunk crying girl.) This lengthens without clumping and looks fine. Here is a close up of the brush and my lashes.

3. Lip Lacquer High Pigment Collection – LA Splash. Regular price: $18.00

image

Wow, another full sized makeup item! I wish it was light pink lol. I love the red lipstick look, but for some reason I just can’t pull it off :/. Luckily I know a lot of girls that do look awesome with red lips, so I’ll pass this on.

4. TanTowel – Half Body Classic. Regular price: $5.40

image

Exfoliate, tan and moisturize with these all-in-one self-tanning towelettes for the face and body. To use, unfold towelette and apply to dry, clean skin in a circular motion over your body. Color will appear in 2-4 hours and last up to 7 days. These have a 4.4/5 on Sephora, with most people commenting on how much they love the natural, streak-free glow they provide.

5. Whipped Creme – Sebastian Professional. Dark Oil Sample. Regular price: $5.45

image

Sebastian Professional’s Whipped Creme is a light, conditioning styling product designed to nourish locks and give your waves a little pep in their step. Really… interesting because I have stick straight hair, not even this can make it curl.. and GLOSSYBOX should know this because of my beauty profile. Maybe they didn’t use the profiles to curate this month’s box since it’s Tony Awards products. Also, I touched the top for 1 SECOND and that much creme came out lol. My best friend has curly hair so this is going to her…

image

The box suggests mixing the dark oil and whipped creme and leaving it on for 10 minutes as a hair mask. That I can do! Last time I used a hair mask I made it to FIVE days without washing my hair, a new record! So I’m a big fan.

6. Premium O2 Bubble & Cool Pore Pack Duo – Caolion. Regular price: $4.99

image

This duo features an oxygen bubble mask that cleanses pores, then a cooling mask to tighten and refine. It will turn your skin into a pristine canvas for makeup application. I’m obsessed with skin care, I’m only 29 but I’d like to keep my skin looking young for as long as possible. So I’m excited about this one!

Value

The products in this box are worth about $55.84. For a $21.00/month subscription, that is a pretty great value. I wish I’d liked the lipstick color, but everything else is great so that’s good :).
