This review is for the Love With Food – Gluten Free box! Since it is already established that the food is all gluten free and organic, natural, and/or GMO-free, I will just review the taste and not the ingredients.

The Goods

  1. Cybele’s Free to Eat – Snickerdoodle Cookies. Regular price: $6.99

IMG_2579

When I saw these, I expected them to be crunchy, like maybe Chips Ahoy. I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into one and it was SO soft and chewy! Yes!!! Not only that, but these are the perfect amount of cinnamon and sweetness. I couldn’t stop eating them!

2. PB2 – Powdered Peanut Butter. Regular price: $1.19

IMG_2577

I was a little skeptical at first, as you can imagine… I was also surprised that 2 tablespoons of this (2 tbsp + 2 tbsp water = 1 serving) is only 45 calories! That is SOO many less calories that 2 tbsp of regular peanut butter! I gave it a shot on my favorite snack of all time, PBJ. I eat like 5 a week anyways. This stuff actually turned into peanut butter, and tasted close enough, lol. Not quite as yummy as real peanut butter, but still good.

3. Love With Food – Chap Stick. Free Gift?

IMG_2578

This chap stick is moisturizing and has aloe, vitamin E, and sunscreen. It is not flavored, but it feels nice and smooth on.

4. You Love Fruit – Apple Cinnamon Fruit Leather. Regular price: $1.70

IMG_2580

I thought for sure this would be hard to pull off the paper, doesn’t it look like it would be? Nope, it just peeled right off. I CAN not get over how amazing these little hearts of apple cinnamon-ey goodness are! Nom Nom Nom… They taste kind of like the “all natural” fruit roll up wannabes called Leather Fruit Rolls, like those but little bite sized hearts. And apple cinnamon specifically not just a mystery fruity flavor.

5. Goodie Girl Cookies – Midnight Brownie. Regular price: $.83

IMG_2581

So in my PopSugar Must Have box last month, I got a bag of Goodie Girl Toffee Chaos Cookies. I’m not sure if you’ve heard the phrase “Experiences are only real when shared”, but I kinda live by this. Anyways, the experience of eating those freaking cookies was so amazing, I took them to my Grandmas house and shared them with my entire family. EVERYONE could not believe how amazing they were.

Needless to say, when I saw another Goodie Girl food in this box, my eye’s lit up. I opened the bag, tried one, and immediately ran to the kitchen to get a glass of milk to enjoy these properly. I sat down and ate each one, with a sip of milk in between, until they were all gone :(. Why can’t they last forever?! These were just as good as the toffee cookies, so crunchy and so chocolatey and so perfect in every way! AHH!

6. Boulder Canyon – Coconut Oil Kettle Cooked Chips. Regular price: $.75

IMG_2582

These chips have just the right amount of sea salt and are Super crunchy. I love kettle cooked chips because I love crunchiness lol. The coconut oil makes them feel smooth and not rough like some chips. If you like potato chips, this is like the Rolls Royce of potato chips.

7. Sensible Foods – Sweet Corn Crunch Dried Snack. Regular price: $1. 20

IMG_2583

So there was a snack that looked just like these in my Boxtera box once, and they were the consistency of popcorn kernels before you pop them, so that’s what I was expecting. To my surprise, these are a soft crunch, they’re not hard. They’re freeze dried so it’s that soft crunch freeze dried consistency. Only ingredients are corn and sea salt, and they are actually quite delicious indeed.

8. Hillside Candy – Honey Organic Hard Candies. Regular price: $2.53

IMG_2584

These taste just like you’d expect. Honey flavored hard candy. Well, I love honey so I am enjoying these. I’m really curious that if I dropped one in my tea, would it sweeten it? Hmm…

9. The Better Corn – Sweet Corn Whole Grain Chips. Regular price: $1.20

IMG_2585

These are a bit sweeter and less crunchy than the average tortilla chip. They do taste great and I actually prefer these to dip in my salsa now. Why are all non-GMO foods so much better than their GMO counterparts? Once day when I’m rich I’ll eat all organic all the time…

10. The Better Chip – Jalapeño Whole Grain Chips. Regular price: $1.20

IMG_2586

These were a bit harder than their Sweet Corn counterpart, and WAY more spicy! I’m such a wimp when it comes to spicy food, my nose was immediately running from one chip. I’m going to have to pass the rest of these on to someone at work. They are really flavorful, spicy, and crunchy… if you’re in to that kind of thing.

11. Schar Bonta d’ Italia – Gluten-Free Penne. (2) Regular price: $1.80

IMG_2587

I love all pasta, I doubt this is an exception. Interesting story though –  So I signed up for another week of Blue Apron and forgot to cancel HelloFresh, so now I have 2 boxes of 3 meals each at my house. All fresh ingredients and I’ll be lucky if I can cook all of that before anything goes bad – so this pasta is on the back burner for now. Here is an amazon review that will have to do:

“All of Schar’s products are noticeably superior to many other gluten free brands.
I love their pasta. I’ve never had problems with mushiness, crumbling or any other classic gluten free characteristics with this pasta.”

12. Cosmos Creations – Cheddar and Pepper Premium Puffed Corn. Regular price: $1.19

IMG_2588

Yessss….. These are like Cheeto’s Puffed on crack! Similar consistency but way more flavor and WAY more spectacular! You may think I’m being dramatic but seriously try these and you’ll understand. Just… wow. I need more of these in my life.

Value

The Gluten-Free box is $19.99/mo. I came up with a total of about $20.60 for the items in this months box. I think the VALUE of this box is that I get to try a TON of new super healthy and delicious snacks. Besides the Goodie Girl cookies, I’d never heard of any brands or snacks included in this box before now. This experience is valuable to me regardless of whether or not I saved money. It’s not like I lost money, since it totals about what I payed, and I am glad I enjoyed everything and got to try all these new awesome foods! Yay!
